We are currently looking for a visionary and experienced (legal) Director of AI (m/f/d) in Berlin.

Fieldfisher is a law firm with almost 190 years of history and over 1,000 lawyers in 12 countries. Having developed into one of the leading law firms in Germany in the field of Legal OPs and Legal Tech over the last three years, we want to expand our position as a technology-focussed law firm in Europe and set new standards in the field of AI.

With innovative ideas and experience in the development of technology and AI-based products and services, you will develop and take responsibility for our global AI strategy. You will work closely with Nigel Lang (CIO Fieldfisher), Dr Philipp Plog (member of the ExCom and Managing Partner Fieldfisher Germany), Dr Jan Wildhirth (Managing Director Fieldfisher X) and our cross-functional Fieldfisher X team of lawyers, developers and process experts.

Was Du bei uns machst

• Develop Fieldfisher's AI strategy and an AI playbook that is aligned with our overall strategy, goals and objectives
• Identify and recruit a team of AI experts, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
• Lead and manage projects to integrate AI solutions in various jurisdictions worldwide
• Identifying new application areas for AI in the legal industry
• Developing new, profitable products and services
• Creating references from lighthouse clients through new initiatives
• Promote strategic client retention by using AI products to solve business problems
• Selecting the right AI technology suppliers and negotiating partnership agreements
• Managing the budget and resources for AI projects

Was Du mitbringst

• A degree in legal informatics, business informatics or a technical field such as computer science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning, ideally in combination with a degree in law
• At least 5 years of experience in product development and working with clients and partners to drive technology adoption, including several years in a leadership position, ideally in a professional services environment (preferably in the legal sector)
• Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch), programming languages (e.g. Python, R), data analytics tools and complex project management
• Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing interdisciplinary teams and delivering profitable products or business units
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to drive innovation and stay ahead of industry trends
• A well-established network within the legal and/or technological community
